The HealthPathway for COVID-19 Infection Control and Staff Exposure has been updated to include information about return to work if a staff member tests positive. The pathway’s name has also been updated, it is now called COVID-19 Infection Control and Staff Exposure or Infection.
Changes
- A section has been added to guide returning staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 based on updated CDNA guidelines and the NSW Health factsheet for people who have tested positive for COVID-19. A requirement has been added for a rapid antigen test for any staff member returning to work early (day 8 rather than day 11) because of persisting infectivity risk at that stage, and as a consensus decision with state governance committee feedback.
- Notification to Safework NSW is only required if a staff member has contracted COVID-19 in the workplace and has then required inpatient care or died.
