The message is simple: anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 must come forward for testing. Don’t wait, do it now.
Testing is a cornerstone of the effort to stop the virus spreading.
If you have a runny nose, a sore throat, a cough, shortness of breath, a high temperature or even just feel generally unwell, get tested. Self-isolate while you’re waiting for your results. Stay home, don’t go to work, don’t catch public transport, don’t go to the shops.
In most instances, your test results will be known within a day or two.
If you have the virus but aren’t seriously ill, you’ll need to self-isolate for 14 days. This helps to prevent the spread of the disease and protects those who are most at risk.
COVID-19 testing sites have been established across the North Coast, including mobile and drive-through clinics. You can also visit your GP via telehealth for a referral to private pathology testing. There’s no excuse for not being tested.
See our interactive map to find a testing location near you.

- Wearing a mask where it is difficult to stay 1.5 metres away from other people. Click here for more information on mask wearing.
