At Health Voyage, we are passionate about creating opportunities for students to develop their skills and knowledge in regional communities. This commitment was recently showcased through headspace Coffs Harbour, where we hosted 2 outstanding final-year nutrition and dietetics students, Teah and Anastasia.
A huge congratulations to Teah and Anastasia for successfully completing their placement and finalising their 4-year nutrition and dietetics degree! Their contribution has been nothing short of exceptional.
During their time with us, Teah and Anastasia designed and delivered a social media campaign aimed at improving the wellbeing of young people aged 12–25 years. This project was informed by:
- a comprehensive literature review
- stakeholder consultations
- qualitative feedback from our Young Leaders Council.
The campaign focused on three key subgroups:
- Young men not seeking mental health support
- Young people impacted by the cost-of-living crisis and its effect on food choices
- Young people seeking positive mental health and wellbeing strategies (stress, anxiety, loneliness).
The result? A suite of engaging social media assets and templates tailored to the needs of these priority groups – an incredible contribution to our community engagement team and the broader community.
In financial year 2025, Health Voyage proudly supported 18 student placements across disciplines including nutrition and dietetics, social work, psychology, and community services – strengthening pathways for future health professionals in regional NSW.
The placements were delivered through partnerships with universities, including our local Consortium partner university, Southern Cross University, reinforcing our commitment to building workforce capability and supporting future health professionals in regional NSW.
