It’s been one year since the Medicare Urgent Care Clinics on the North Coast – Coffs Harbour and Lismore – opened their doors.
Medicare UCCs ease the pressure on hospitals by giving people a great health care option when the need is urgent, but not life-threatening.
It’s an opportune time to reflect on the impact they’ve made on the community.
Medicare UCCs on the North Coast
Since opening, Coffs Harbour and Lismore Medicare UCCs have had a combined 18,500+ presentations, with an average of 27 presentations per day, and a busiest day of 60 presentations.
Importantly, one in every two of these patients would have gone to the local emergency department if the Medicare UCC was not open.
Peak times are between 9am-11am, with minimal difference in presentations across the week.
78% of presentations were for ‘acute illness’, and 15% for ‘acute injury.’
"We are thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of the Coffs Harbour Urgent Care Clinic and the incredible milestones achieved since opening. Over the past year, our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to provide high-quality, urgent care services to our community.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our exceptional team for their unwavering commitment and the outstanding care they deliver every day. We also extend our gratitude to the community for their trust and support. Together, we are making a meaningful difference.
Here's to continuing to grow, learn, and serve our community in the years to come!"Tara Welsh, Samuel Ledger & Mena Messih - CHC Medical (Coffs UCC)
