North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) is calling for expressions of interest for the North Coast Primary Health Care Workforce Profile Project Steering Committee (June – October 2017).
Up to four primary health care professionals working in private practice on the North Coast are invited to nominate for the North Coast Primary Health Care Workforce Profile Project Steering Committee.
NCPHN is funded by the Australian Government to make the health system more coordinated and efficient. Strengthening the capacity of the primary health care workforce to deliver quality, accessible and coordinated health care is critical to achieving our mandate. NCPHN is expanding our focus in workforce planning and analysis. We have begun this process by commissioning a short-term project to establish a primary health care workforce profile of the NSW North Coast. The project will involve workforce mapping and data analysis of primary care professionals working in private practice. Work has already commenced and will be conducted over two phases concluding in October 2017. The outcomes of the project will inform the development of NCPHN’s workforce strategy.
Through this project it is expected an understanding will be gained of:
NCPHN has contracted Grosvenor Management Consultancy to undertake the project. Grosvenor has previous experience working on a similar project with another primary health network and has made themselves available to undertake the project in a short period of time.
The Steering Committee will include health organisational representatives, clinicians and Grosvenor and NCPHN staff. The Committee will meet three times during the course of the project face to face in Ballina and via video and teleconference at the following times:
12 – 2pm, Wednesday 2 August 2017
Purpose: Discuss and finalise survey questions for ‘in-scope’ clinicians.
1 – 3pm, Tuesday 5 September 2017
Purpose: Discuss and finalise phase two outcomes and deliverables.
1-3pm, Tuesday 31 October 2017
Purpose: Presentation of:
Workforce profile
Summary of strengths, challenges and trends
Options for workforce planning models
NCPHN will support up to four primary care clinicians to participate in the Committee. Selection of members will be based on:
Compensation will be made available to non-salaried Steering Committee members.
