BreastScreen NSW has temporarily suspended routine breast screening in response to the increasing risk posed by the COVID-19 Delta strain. This temporary closure is to allow staff to be redeployed to assist in the management of COVID-19.
Women will continue to be notified of their screening results. If the woman has provided consent, her nominated doctor will receive a letter confirming the results.
Women who have been recalled for assessment will be assessed as usual.
Women who had their screening appointment cancelled, or who become due for a mammogram will be contacted by BreastScreen NSW at the resumption of service to re-book their appointment.
BreastScreen NSW will provide regular updates on their website and Facebook page as the situation unfolds.
If you have any questions, you can contact BreastScreen NSW on 13 20 50.
