Jane Walsh is the Director of BreastScreen for our region and she said the mobile unit’s equipment can detect cancers as small as a grain of rice.
“When breast cancer is picked up early, most women will recover and can get back to normal life. A 20-minute BreastScreen appointment every two years can make all the difference.”
All women over 40 are eligible and women aged 50 to 74 are particularly encouraged to have a mammogram every two years.
