Online Breast Cancer Course for Rural Health Professionals
Want to know more about the investigation of a new breast symptom, appropriate treatment, psychosocial support and follow-up care for women diagnosed with breast cancer?
Cancer Australia is delivering a new online breast cancer course for rural health professionals (GPs and nurses) via the Qstream online learning platform.
Breast Cancer Qstream has been developed by Cancer Australia with a multidisciplinary group of breast cancer experts and provides evidence-based professional development opportunities that are accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and the Australian College of Nursing.
Enrolment in the Qstream course requires a few minutes every few days to answer one or two clinical case-based questions over a period of approximately six weeks.

Breast Density Mammography – A Message from BreastScreen NSW
Breast Density Mammography remains the most effective screening test for asymptomatic women aged 50-74 for reducing deaths from breast cancer in a population based screening program.
BreastScreen Australia has issued a position statement on breast density and screening. Click here for the full statement.
The Australian Standing Committee on Screening recommends that until more evidence is available on how breast density should be best assessed and managed, and evidence supports clinical pathways for women, BreastScreen Australia should not routinely record breast density or provide supplemental screening for women with dense breasts.
Are you a GP who needs to request information on clients who have screened with BreastScreen NSW over the last 24 months?
The new GP BreastScreen NSW data request form is now available.
Click here to download the form.
Send completed forms to: [email protected]
Please note that this list will only include clients that have consented to have their results shared with their GP.
