Recently, it has come to our attention that there is an email circulating offering our customers/partners to purchase a list of registrants/members. Please note that this is a phishing scam and has not originated from, or affiliated with, Healthy North Coast.
These types of scams often use the names of trusted organisations to increase the likelihood that someone will interact.
If you receive an email from someone offering to sell ‘Members Lists’, please delete or report. This is a timely reminder to be cyber-aware in 2025.
What is a phishing email?
Phishing is a way cybercriminals trick you into giving them personal information. They do this by sending fake emails or text messages that look like they come from a person or organisation you trust. These scams could include a link to a fake login page or attachment. If you fall for it, you could lose money and access to your accounts, or even have your identity stolen. An example of this would be receiving an email with a link to a fake bank website asking for your login details. Giving this away could compromise your accounts.
