Dementia is the second leading cause of death for Australians, with an estimated 250 people joining the population with dementia each day.
North Coast GP Training has organised a series of CPD events in October aimed at improving knowledge and skills to help primary care clinicians more confidently diagnose dementia.
Dr Hilton Koppe, Director of Education & Training at North Coast GP Training, will facilitate an interactive workshop to increase participants’ confidence, knowledge and skills, enabling them to:
- Understand the difference between normal ageing and dementia.
- Identify and diagnose dementia in the general practice setting.
- Modify risk factors that impact on the development and progression of dementia.
- Assist people with dementia, their families and carers to access appropriate resources and information.
Benefit from a practical, step-wise approach to the diagnosis of dementia in your practice by registering via for one of four event locations: Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Ballina or Kingscliff.
These CPD events have been made possible by funding from North Coast Primary Health Network and are held in partnership with Dementia Training Australia.
