Young people living in Ballina and Byron Bay have limited access to mental health support services.
We know that the prevalence of mental illness is relatively high in young people, but they are using services at a lower rate than older people.
North Coast Primary Health Network’s Mental Health Services for Youth Project is addressing this issue and aims to improve mental health services and outcomes for young people in the areas of Ballina and Byron Bay.
North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) is looking for a local organisation with the qualifications and experience to deliver a mental health service appropriate to young people aged 10 to 21. It will serve both young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and those at risk of developing a mental illness.
Young people will be referred to the service through the community and the new service will work closely with other mental health and community-based services to ensure young people get the care that they need.
The service will combine psychological interventions as well as social emotional wellbeing supports in youth appropriate settings where young people can easily access them and feel comfortable.
Proposals close at 5pm on Thursday 20 May 2019. To find out more, go to www.tenderlink.com/ncphn and fill out a Request for Proposal form.
