Healthy Towns Evans Head
Healthy Towns has undertaken extensive community consultation to determine needs in each town. In Evans Head this consisted of:
- 200 community health and wellbeing surveys
- Over 25 face-to-face consultations
Communities were asked questions about living in Evans Head, access to healthcare, health and wellbeing priorities and how easy or difficult it is to access certain services.
The survey results have been summarised in a Evans Head Community Profile resource: download here.
Two community workshops were held on Tuesday 29 May 2018 and attended by 35 participants. Results of the surveys and face-to-face consultations were discussed.
Participants achieved two key workshop outcomes:
- identified and prioritised key issues facing the Evans Head community
- brainstormed initial ‘ideas’ or solutions to address the agreed key issues

The Healthy Towns Evans Head Action Plan outlines local projects and services to be undertaken as a result of the consultation processes.
The Action Plan aims to produce the following key outcomes for Healthy Towns Evans Head:
- Build community connections to support health and wellbeing
- Strengthen communication between health and community services
- Identify and address service gaps
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we live and work, the Bundjalung, Arakwal, Yaegl, Gumbaynggirr, Githabul, Dunghutti and Birpai Nations, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future.
