The Grow the Music project will provide local refugees traumatised by the 2019-20 bushfires an opportunity to contextualise what happened through Q&A sessions.
It will also let them reconnect with one another through a facilitated music program. Music plays an important part in bringing many nationalities together and is seen as an important activity in maintaining social cohesion and in maintaining links with friends and family.
A vital element of the recovery process is to increase a community’s strengths and capacity. Grow the Music looks to increase wellbeing by bringing people together through music and discussion.
This grant was funded through the North Coast PHN Program and the Australian Government’s ‘Supporting Communities in Bushfire Recovery’ initiative.
