The small community of Bellbrook was severely affected by the 2019-20 bushfires. At the height of the fires, which burned out of control for more than two weeks, the whole community was forced to evacuate.
Many in the community continue to struggle in the aftermath of the fires.
In March 2021, the Bellbrook Fishing Club is coordinating a social weekend on the Macleay River for community members. Activities will include camping, fishing and kayaking. The event will provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences and reconnect.
This grant was funded through the North Coast PHN Program and the Australian Government’s ‘Supporting Communities in Bushfire Recovery’ initiative.
