This project aims to deliver 3 arts-based recovery workshops in the Nambucca Valley for people impacted by the 2019/20 bushfires. The workshops, delivered by a local experienced arts facilitators/therapist, offer Nambucca residents an opportunity to attend to their emotional wellbeing, individually and as communities, in a safe forum. Through movement, creative writing and visual art, the project assists participants to process difficult experiences, improving mental health and emotional wellbeing. Offering this program in a group context builds community cohesion and reduces social isolation. Auspiced by community service organisation LifeTime Connect, the program enhances participant recovery through sharing information about local support services.
