A suicide prevention service available to people discharged from the Emergency Departments at The Tweed Hospital, Lismore Base Hospital and Grafton Base Hospital.
The Way Back is a follow-up service specifically designed by Beyond Blue to support people after a suicide attempt. It is a free-of-charge, non-clinical, assertive outreach service focused on empowering people to connect with formal and informal supports by providing guidance, encouragement, motivation and follow-up for up to a three-month period immediately following a suicide attempt.
Support is collaborative and it compliments existing services so as to avoid duplication and/or confusion. The service provides continuity of care between primary points of contact (following a suicide attempt) and community services that are able to address the concerns of each individual.
