The Bullinah Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Project supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members from Ballina and surrounding communities through increased access to psychological and psychiatry services. The project will also provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with an identified mental health condition through care coordination. The care coordinator will collaborate with clients, general practitioners, clinical staff and other health care providers and external organisations to provide appropriate multidisciplinary services.
The project also includes funding for Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service staff capacity building in suicide risk assessment, emotional wellbeing assessment and mental health first aid.
