The Community Withdrawal Management and Aftercare Service provides ambulatory and home based withdrawal management and follow up care to people aged 16 years and over who reside in the Coffs Clinical Network of the MNCLHD.
The service features close partnerships with GPs working in Aboriginal Health Services and mainstream medical practices as well as with Mental Health services. The service is designed to support GPs to appropriately manage withdrawal from alcohol and or drugs; referrals in and out of acute services; joint assessments; and the safe transfer of care for people with co- occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
The service is delivered in the Coffs Clinical Network including the communities of Macksville, Nambucca, Bellingen, and Bowraville. Services will be eventually extended to Kempsey as required.
