Location: Tresillian Macksville Residential Unit
Tresillian is currently recruiting for a VMO – General Practitioner to join the team at the Tresillian Macksville Residential Unit. The unit is the first of its kind to operate outside of an Australian metropolitan city, providing invaluable access to specialist services for rural and regional families with children 0-3 years experiencing a range of early parenting difficulties.
The General Practitioner (GP) is to provide clinical management and treatment of primary care givers and their children admitted to the Macksville Residential Unit under your care.
Professionally responsible for the proper clinical management and treatment of primary care givers admitted to a Tresillian Family Care Centre under your care and in conjunction with Tresillian’s model of care and routines taking into consideration the clinical services already provided to the families by the multidisciplinary team.
Selection criteria
- Registered as a Medical Practitioner under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or current specialist qualifications as recognised by the Health Insurance Commission.
- Demonstrated commitment to maternal and child and family health services and an understanding of principles of early intervention, prevention and health promotion.
- Demonstrated clinical practice at a high standard and experience in perinatal, maternal, infant mental health including clinical assessment of pregnant women and families with young children.
- Experience of working or demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education, teaching and clinical supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice and continuous quality improvement principles; experience and willingness to participate in and/or lead research activities would be beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
