Summerland Skin Cancer Clinic is seeking a part-time VR GP to join the team in providing comprehensive skin cancer diagnosis and management services, including medical, surgical and photodynamic therapy options. The clinic is located in East Lismore NSW, close to multiple beaches, schools and airports. The practice principal is Dr Tristan Hicks, a specialist GP, accredited skin cancer doctor and Fellow of both the RACGP as well as the Skin Cancer College Australasia.
Summerland Skin Cancer Clinic is a family-owned, private billing clinic. It enjoys full-time practice nurse support, a friendly administrative team and dedicated treatment room. The clinic uses Best Practice clinical software, plus DermEngine for skin photography. It is also well supported by experienced general and plastic surgeons, medical oncology, radiation oncology, as well as both public and private hospital facilities. Doctors working in Lismore may be eligible for the Workforce Incentive Program – Doctor Stream payments.
The position
• 2 days per week available immediately, increasing to 3 days per week from January 2022
• 65% of billings
• On-site mentoring available, if required
• No weekends or on-call
• No travel
Applicant essential skills
• Current medical registration with AHPRA
• RACGP Fellowship or equivalent
• Proficiency in English
• Training and experience in dermatoscopy and skin cancer surgery
• Certificate in skin cancer medicine and surgery (or working towards this), or significant minor surgical and general practice experience
Applicant preferred skills
• Ability and experience in performing flap and graft surgery
• Advanced certificate in dermatoscopy and advanced clinical certificate in skin cancer medicine and surgery, or similar (or working towards this)
• Accreditation with SCCA or Fellowship (or working towards these; Dr Hicks can assist with further education and mentorship to help achieve these qualifications)
