The Graduate School of Medicine is recruiting for an Academic Leader for the University’s Clarence Valley Regional Training Hub. The Regional Training Hub initiative is part of the federal government’s Integrated Rural Training Pipeline strategy, to address the relative lack of post-graduate medical training opportunities in rural Australia.
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in contributing to the successful implementation of innovative ways to expand post-graduate medical training in the Clarence Valley region of northern NSW. You will work closely with a range of health, education and training stakeholders including the Northern NSW Local Health District, community-based health providers (including general practices and Aboriginal medical services), the NSW Health Education and Training Institute, specialist training colleges, the North Coast Primary Health Network, the University Centre for Rural Health, other universities in the region, and medical students on placement in the region.
