The Shoreline is the newest luxury aged care facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW. The 120-bed care facility is located within the village currently comprising 77 luxury apartments and 5 villas with further developments underway. In operation for under a year, the precinct boasts a fresh, resort-like atmosphere and a focus on high quality care of our aged residents and building a community in the superb beach side location where we live and work.
The Shoreline’s Deputy Director of Care has the opportunity to proactively enhance our aged care residents’ lives, through the development of care processes and in growing and evolving the culture of the organisation through day-to-day interactions with residents, their families and staff.

Deputy Director of Care Position Overview
The Deputy Director of Care is a dual role which cooperatively oversees the personal and clinical care and services within the residential aged care unit and daily operation of care floors. This role supports the Director of Care and acts as a facilitator of day-to-day treatment and attention to residents, ensuring a high-quality standard is upheld through leadership of the clinical team and personally where necessary.
Essential Criteria
- Registered Nurse, with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), without restrictions to practice
- National Police check clearance
- Experience in aged care management and gerontological nursing
- People management experience, knowledge, and skills
- Demonstrated competence in managing a clinical governance system and ability to demonstrate optimal clinical and care outcomes
- Ability to communicate and work closely with the second Deputy Director of Care, to cooperatively meet the requirements of the position across the Residential Aged Care Facility
- Effective and professional communication, documentation and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and professionally
- Ability to manage a multi-skilled team environment and to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Effective time management skills and an ability to logically prioritise varying work demands
- Understanding of the ageing process and a commitment to advocate for older people in residential care
- High level customer service and person-centred care knowledge and skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software and other desktop applications
Desirable Criteria
- Relevant qualifications in gerontology, dementia, palliative care
- Postgraduate degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant clinical field
- Experience in budgeting for clinical and personal care
