Last week, Healthy North Coast hosted two local Nurse Network webinars that were attended by over 220 participants including nurses, GPs and allied health professionals.
The topic was wound management and each session included five key elements:
- Networking and interaction
- Insight into the Wound Busters clinic
- Clinical Nurse Consultant presentation
- Vascular surgeon presentation
- Panel Q&A
Thank you again to our expert presenters – you were the highlight of these evenings as you can see by the participant feedback below.
As part of our COVID-safe responsibilities, we are currently running all of our workforce events online. The Nurse Network webinar format was well-received:
Learning Objectives
Thank you to those participants who completed the post-event evaluation survey. This is a key learning opportunity for our planning team, helping us to improve future local workforce CPD and networking events.
We are delighted that 83% of survey participants rated our events last week as excellent or very good.
Take-home learnings that have been shared include:
From L-R: Cheryl Frank, Clinical Director Wound Busters, Bron McCrae, Deputy Director Healthy Living and Ageing Healthy North Coast, Dr Stephen Yelland, GP and Director Wound Busters, Dr Mark Jackson, vascular surgeon, Ann Fowler, Clinical Nurse Consultant Mid North Coast Local Health District, Karen Marriott, Podiatrist Belreigh Podiatry Kempsey.
Dr Stephen Yelland joined the panel both nights. He said, “We hope other PHNs around Australia take a keen interest in wound education, promotion and service delivery like yourselves and the Gold Coast PHN. Two great examples of how PHNs can make a difference to their community.”
Bron McCrae facilitated the education and said, “It is always challenging to present to a multidisciplinary audience and ensure all have something to take away, however, learning together is an important step towards integrating service provision which is imperative if we are ever to approach the management of this complex client group effectively.”
Thank you to everyone who participated. We look forward to seeing you at a future Healthy North Coast workforce event very soon.
