The last couple of months delivered opportunities to partner with Kempsey Shire Council for Seniors Festival events in South West Rocks. Read on for more updates.
Community Update
Community members were invited to hear an update on the Healthy Towns project at the Community Health Centre in South West Rocks on Monday 17th December 2018. The short list of initiatives was discussed. Feedback and questions received by attendees will feed into the co-design process to help further progress initiatives.
Seniors Festival
Healthy Towns is partnering with Kempsey Shire Council to host a range of events in South West Rocks for Seniors Week. Events will include a Health Check Morning Tea, Walking Netball and a talk on Seniors Rights. Seniors Festival events will run from Monday 18th February to Friday 22nd February 2019.
Mental Health First Aid Training
Healthy Towns will be providing Mental Health First Aid Training in South West Rocks in 2019. There will be three different sessions, one for parents or people working with teens, one for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and one general session. What’s next?
Health and Community Transport working group will be established in early 2019 with a plan to brainstorm solutions to key transport concerns for South West Rocks residents.
