Mental health ‘know how’ for community aged care
Lismore: Tuesday 30th May and 20th June
9am – 3pm (8.30am registration and tea and coffee)
Northern Rivers Community Aged Care staff, management and volunteers are invited to attend free trauma-informed mental health training. This two day face-to-face workshop series is being run at 12 locations from Tweed Heads down to Grafton and affords a 50% wage subsidy to organisations (morning tea and lunch included). The program aimed at supporting the mental health of both clients and workers alike is funded by Healthy North Coast through the North Coast PHN Program.
About the Trainer
Michaela Killips is a psychologist with significant workplace training and counselling experience. Having worked in aged care and with a special interest in complex trauma, she is looking forward to delivering a funded program for support workers and associated staff caring for older people living in the community. The hands-on practical program is designed to up-skill workers and management in trauma-informed care with the added benefit of a self-care component.
