Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Aboriginal support programs​

Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) in the North Coast deliver SEWB programs that:

  • Facilitate yarning circles to strengthen cultural connections and healing.
  • Offer individual and family counselling tailored to the cultural and emotional needs of clients
  • Provide access to social and community activities that enhance wellbeing and reduce isolation
  • Support those impacted by trauma through specialised therapeutic programs

By addressing the social, cultural, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health, these programs contribute to the overall wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, building stronger and healthier communities across the region.

  • 13YARN on 13 92 76 – A free and confidential 24/7 helpline delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professionals, offering culturally safe mental health and crisis support.

  • Head to Health on 1800 595 212 – A free phone service available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, providing mental health support and guidance to connect you with the right services.

  • Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 – Available 24/7, this helpline offers access to acute mental health services, providing immediate support for people in distress or crisis.
