Did you know that the average full time GP has 72 active rare disease patients each? Rare diseases are individually rare, yet collectively affect 8% of the population. As the first point of contact, GPs are faced with immense challenges in supporting people with rare disease to navigate the health system.
Ms Nada Vidic, UNSW (iRECS4772), is undertaking a PhD research study to answer the question of “How can Australian general practices be supported to meet the care delivery needs of people living with rare disease?”
How can you be supported? Get in contact with Nada at [email protected] by Tuesday 30 April, to arrange an online interview time, and receive an information sheet if you are a GP, practice nurse or practice manager.
Participants will receive a $100 Coles or Myer gift card.
