Dr Andy Williams, GP Educator at Healthy North Coast, invites you to complete a short survey and attend two upcoming webinars on voluntary assisted dying.
“The legislation for The Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2022 will come into effect from 28 November 2023. This will be one of the biggest changes in legislation around health in many years, and from that time it will be possible for residents on the mid and north coast of NSW, and their healthcare professionals to discuss both eligibility and accessibility to voluntary assisted dying.
It is expected that many of those who wish to avail themselves of this option at the end of their lives will choose to die at home.
Involvement of primary health care professionals, and especially GPs, will be essential for empathy around this choice. To support both residents and health professionals of the region, Healthy North Coast is running a questionnaire to measure the present degree of knowledge within primary health services and then two webinars on Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19 October to help explain the legislation and its impact.”
Complete the 5-minute survey so that we can tailor the webinar to local needs based on current knowledge and understanding of the planned changes.
Book your spot for the webinars:
Part 1: 6pm Tuesday 17 October – clinical pathways for general practitioners
Part 2: 6pm Thursday 19 October – local pathways for your patients and community
