Healthy North Coast has access to a limited supply of surgical masks from the National Medical Stockpile for distribution to general practice, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, community pharmacy and allied health providers.
Guidelines for the distribution of personal protective equipment were updated on 5 August 2020 to reflect changes in advice on wearing masks due to increased community transmission of COVID-19. The Commonwealth guidelines are available here.
A limited number of surgical masks is available where no local commercial supply can be obtained. Masks are for the use of:
- Health professionals and practice/pharmacy staff required to have direct contact with patients.
- Community members/patients suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19.
Strict eligibility criteria apply for accessing masks. Please read the guidelines on our website prior to requesting masks via the online form.
