What is the project?
Young people in Ballina and Byron Bay have limited access to mental health support services. Young people in our region still access mental health services at the lowest rate of all age groups. The Mental Health Services for Youth Project aims to address the access issue while improving mental health outcomes and the service experience for young people accessing services in the Ballina and Byron Bay LGAs.
NCPHN is looking for a provider to deliver a service that combines psychological interventions and social emotional wellbeing supports in youth-appropriate settings. Referrals will come from a variety of organisations within the community, and this service will work closely with other mental health and community-based organisations.
Who can access it?
Young people between the age of 10 and 21 years in the Ballina and Byron Bay areas with mild to moderate mental health support needs. The service will work with young people with an existing mental health diagnosis as well as those at risk of developing a mental illness.
