2023 was a big year for primary healthcare education, with Healthy North Coast delivering 84 impactful events, offering health professionals on the North Coast a diverse range of educational experiences.
These initiatives involved advanced life support training, engaging webinars and face-to-face CPD with networking opportunities. Addressing crucial aspects of primary healthcare, the 2023 calendar included immunisation updates, antenatal shared care education and cultural safety training to enrich practitioners’ knowledge base, fostering inclusive and comprehensive care approaches.
The pinnacle of the year was marked by the grand finale – two Chronic Disease Forums – one in Port Macquarie and one in Lismore. These forums served as a high point, drawing upon local expertise to address the multifaceted challenges posed by chronic illnesses, offering innovative strategies and insights to enhance patient care and management.
"Close to 200 health professionals came together to learn with their peers, but also to network with each and look at how best we might step outside our professional silos and operate in an interdisciplinary environment.
"A mixture of local speakers and regional specialists provided education around chronic disease that was well received by all participants. It was an excellent starting point to continue this conversation within the Healthy North Coast Clinical Societies."Dr Andy Williams - GP & Medical Educator, Healthy North Coast
