The Centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders was recently re-launched as the InsideOut Institute.
The launch in late April at the University of Sydney was attended by Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt and NSW Minister for Mental Health Tanya Davies. Olympic athlete Jana Pittman, an InsideOut Ambassador, also shared her lived experience with an eating disorder.
The InsideOut Institute’s vision is to provide every person with an eating disorder access to the best possible care. Its mission is to transform the treatment landscape for eating disorders in Australia and to find a cure through innovative research, collaboration and an enduring path of inquiry.
The launch also unveiled a new website which houses some excellent resources for health professionals including:
- An extensive resource library including research publications, treatment guidelines and assessment tools, videos, podcasts and fact sheets
- A new Treatment Services Database to help people find a private practitioner, community clinic or program nearby
- List of support organisations
- Large online training platform
