General practices are being advised that there are changes to the allowance of Zostavax vaccines that can be ordered.
The allowance for Zostavax has been increased to 50 doses per order (previously 30) for GPs and 100 doses per order (previously 60) for Super GPs.
With the expansion of the National Immunisation Program to include catch-up vaccines for 10-19 year olds and refugees, there will be changes to the online order form in the near future. The form will be simplified so that providers only have to hit one button to order all routine and catch-up vaccines.
NCPHN advises practices is to be mindful of overstocking Zostavax given that it is expensive, especially in a cold chain breach.
