‘Suicide Prevention training for Pharmacists’ aims to:
- increase participants’ skills and confidence in identifying risk factors of someone who may have suicidal thoughts
- increase awareness of referral and support options; and
- recognise the prevalence of suicide in the pharmacy context.
It is also suitable for Pharmacy Assistants.
Learning objectives:
- Recognise the prevalence of suicide in the context of pharmacy
- Identify risk factors and warning signs of someone that may have suicidal
thoughts - Prepare for a conversation with someone who may display suicidal signs
and symptoms - Practice a conversation with someone who may display suicidal signs and
symptoms - Increase awareness of support and resources on suicidality
- Refer to referral pathways to keep someone safe
The session is delivered by the Black Dog Institute and will be available online for Pharmacists in the Lismore LGA.
