Every member of the practice team has an important role to play in preventing the spread of infection. Non-clinical staff are the first point of contact for
patients and have a particularly important role to play.
To meet RACGP accreditation standards, non-clinicians must be provided regular infection prevention training.
This one-hour webinar will provide non-clinicians with an understanding of the cycle of infection and their role in breaking this cycle. Important topics covered include the importance of hand washing, the safe use of gloves and masks and the environmental cleaning that should be applied to high traffic areas of a practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the actions that non-clinicians can take to protect themselves, other staff and patients from the spread of infection.
- Understand why we wear a face mask and how to use it correctly.
- Describe environmental cleaning practices that must be used in the workplace to prevent the spread of infection.
