It is reported that 66% of people aged 50 years and over have osteoporosis or osteopenia, resulting in 183,000 broken bones each year due to poor bone health.
With people living outside major cities in Australia having higher hip fracture rates than people living in cities, along with reduced access to bone densitometry and osteoporosis specialists, it is important to discuss the challenges the local community is facing.
Join your colleagues and peers from local practices for a face-to-face evening education session with the team from Port Macquarie GPs and supported by Healthy North Coast to strengthen your understanding of bone health.
