In the 2019-2020 bushfires, a large number of young people lost homes and properties while witnessing the devastation of the fires first-hand. They suffered the trauma of immediate danger, both to themselves and family and friends.
These workshops will help to rebuild social connectedness, emotional wellbeing and resilience. They will also offer a safe space where people can be together and engage in an activity they enjoy that allows them to express their emotions, both positive and challenging.
The Art Connections Group will help them to build connectedness and a sense of community by working together towards the shared goal of holding an art exhibition.
This grant was funded through the North Coast PHN Program and the Australian Government’s ‘Supporting Communities in Bushfire Recovery’ initiative.
