The Gumbaynggirr Youth Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) exists primarily to reduce drug-related harm by:
- Improving the level, range and access to alcohol and other drugs services and treatments available to the community.
- Preventing the initiation into harmful and hazardous alcohol and drug use, especially by young people.
The objectives of the group are to increase safe and healthy environments, both social and physical, which promote prevention and reduction of drug related harm and to develop collaborative working relationships with local health services and welfare agencies to address alcohol and other drug problems in the community. Partners in this project include Junaa Buwa Centre for Youth Well-being, Aboriginal Family and Wellbeing and North Coast Primary Health Network.
