National Authentication Service for Health (NASH) certificate renewal
NASH is a public key infrastructure (PKI) solution used to access digital health services. The SHA-2 certificate provides enhanced security protection of healthcare information and reduces the need to manage multiple certificates.

Overview
NASH PKI certificates expire every 2 years from the date of issue. A NASH PKI certificate allows you to access services such as:
- My Health Record
- Electronic prescribing
- Secure messaging
- Healthcare Identifiers Service
What's involved
STEP ONE: Check your NASH PKI expiry date
- Follow the step-by-step guide to check your current NASH PKI certificate expiry date OR
- Use the Verizon NASH directory search to check your NASH PKI certificate expiry date. This must be completed on the device or server where the PKI certificate is loaded.
STEP TWO: Renew your NASH PKI
- Ensure you have the correct HPOS delegations and attributes. Must be either the Responsible Officer (RO) or the organisation maintenance officer (OMO) with HPOS-Org-Admin or HPOS-Org-Site-Admin attributes. Follow the steps to check and update organisation delegations
- Follow the steps to renew your NASH certificate to access HPOS certificates
- Wait to receive text message with PIC code when NASH certificate is ready to download.
- Go back to HPOS certificates (follow steps to renew your NASH certificate), download the NASH PKI file to your computer.
- Contact your IT for support to upload the new NASH certificate. You will need to provide both the;
- NASH PKI certificate
- PIC code received via textContact your software vendor for support
- Contact your software vendor for support
- If having issues installing the NASH PKI certificate
- If they, as your contracted service provider (CSP), hold the NASH certificate. They will provide you with their required steps to renew.
