Healthy North Coast supports health professionals across the North Coast to build knowledge, strengthen clinical practice and connect with colleagues across the health system. 

Our education and events program brings together local and visiting experts, primary care professionals, hospital teams and health partners through continuing professional development (CPD), webinars, clinical education, conferences and targeted workforce training.

The education and events calendar brings together Healthy North Coast events and relevant opportunities from our health partners and other organisations. Events cover a broad range of areas including general practice, mental health, Aboriginal health, aged care, chronic disease, digital health, workforce development and other emerging priorities.

Bringing our health workforce together

We deliver a range of flagship and recurring events that create opportunities for health professionals to learn, collaborate, build relationships and celebrate excellence across primary care. 

Our clinical events connect professionals from across primary, community and hospital care, supporting stronger professional networks and a more connected health system across the North Coast.   

Training opportunities

Healthy North Coast supports targeted training and workforce development opportunities that respond to the needs of health professionals and communities across our region. 

Programs provide practical skills, knowledge and resources that can be applied in everyday practice, while supporting a capable, confident and culturally responsive primary care workforce.    

Cultural Safety training 

Build knowledge and understanding to support culturally safe and respectful care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Training supports health professionals and practice teams to strengthen cultural awareness and apply culturally responsive approaches in their work.

Building Nurse Capacity Program 

Supporting nurses working in primary care to strengthen their clinical skills, confidence and leadership. The program provides practical professional development designed around the evolving role of nurses in delivering high-quality, team-based primary care.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) training

Advanced Life Support training supports health professionals to develop and maintain the skills required to recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies.

Chronic Disease Management

Bringing specialists directly into general practice to build GP capability and improve outcomes for patients with complex chronic conditions. The program pairs in-practice education with shared specialist consultations, strengthening how the whole care team manages diabetes and other complex disease close to home.
