Supporting healthier communities across the North Coast
We work with communities, health services and local organisations to improve health and wellbeing across Northern NSW and the Mid North Coast.
Whether you are looking for health information, support services, ways to stay healthy, or opportunities to have your say about local health care, this section brings together resources and information to help you find what you need.
Our goal is to make it easier for people to access the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
Find support
Finding the right health service can be difficult, especially when you are not sure where to start.
Our Find Support section helps you connect with local health services, community supports and mental health services available across the North Coast.

Health Needs Assessment
Understanding the health needs of our communities helps us plan for the future and ensure services are delivered where they are needed most.
We regularly undertake a ‘Health Needs Assessment’ to identify local health priorities, gaps in services and emerging challenges across the region.
The assessment combines local data, health service information and feedback from community members, health professionals and partner organisations to build a picture of the health and wellbeing needs of people living across the North Coast.
This work helps guide how we:
- plan and commission health services and programs
- identify priority populations and communities that may need additional support
- respond to emerging health challenges and opportunities
- advocate for investment and improved access to care
- measure progress and improve health outcomes over time.
Explore our Health Needs Assessment to learn more about the health priorities shaping services and investment across our region.
Get Involved
The best health solutions are created with communities, not for communities.
We regularly work with community members, carers, people with lived experience and local organisations to understand what is working well and where improvements are needed.
There are many ways to get involved, including:
- participating in community consultations and surveys
- joining workshops, focus groups and engagement activities
- applying to join our Community Advisory Council
- attending local events and information sessions
- keeping up to date with community news and events
- sharing your experiences to help shape future services and programs.
Your feedback helps ensure health services are designed around the needs of the people who use them.
The best way of keeping up to date with current opportunities, or ways to get involved, is through one of our newsletters or by following us on social media.
About Healthy North Coast
Healthy North Coast is the Primary Health Network (PHN) for the North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
We work with general practices, hospitals, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, community organisations and health professionals to improve access to care and address the health needs of our communities.
While we do not provide most health services directly, we work behind the scenes to plan, fund, support and improve health services across the region.
This includes:
- understanding the health needs of our communities
- funding and commissioning local health programs and services
- supporting local health professionals and primary care providers
- improving coordination between health services
- strengthening the local health workforce
- working with communities to design better health solutions.
Our vision is healthy people living in healthy North Coast communities.
