As part of Healthy North Coast’s Wound Care Champion project, Melissa Freeman from Port Macquarie Wound Care Clinic recently spent the day at Bundaleer Residential Aged Care in Wauchope, working with 3 dedicated members of their team.
The visit educated and empowered staff to become their facility’s own ‘wound care champions’, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to lead best-practice wound management in their workplace.
The comprehensive program included a morning of education, real patient wound rounds, and mentorship. Over the next 6 weeks, Mel will remain available as a point of contact for ongoing wound care questions, case reviews and support.
