Meet the team: Melissa Hopkins

Mel has joined the Healthy Living and Ageing team as Senior Manager.

A registered nurse, Melissa brings experience across clinical care, research, infectious diseases, vaccine surveillance and after-hours hospital management. Before joining Healthy North Coast, she worked with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, using risk and sector performance data to support quality and safety improvements across the aged care sector.

In her role at Healthy North Coast, Melissa leads a range of projects supporting residential aged care homes across the region, including the After-Hours and Emergency Planning Project, the Deteriorating Resident Triage Tool, and other initiatives focused on improving outcomes for older people.

Drawing on her experience across clinical care, quality and safety, Melissa is looking forward to working alongside nurses and aged care teams to turn ideas into action, implement meaningful change, and improve the care and experience of older people.

Outside work, Melissa enjoys life on the coast with her dogs and performing in an acoustic trio after many years in a cover band.

We are pleased to welcome Melissa to the team and look forward to introducing her to our aged care partners over the coming months.
