Susan Parker Pavlovic

With over 20 years of experience in Aboriginal health projects, policy, and research roles in both Government and non-Government organisations, Susan has made significant contributions to improving health outcomes. Susan worked at the Queensland Centre for Mothers and Babies, leading research on Indigenous women’s care experiences during pregnancy and birth. During her previous tenure at North Coast Primary Health Network, Susan served as an Indigenous Health Program Officer and Manager of Aboriginal Health. In these roles, she built relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and managed Integrated Team Care chronic disease contracts.

As an Associate Lecturer at the University Centre for Rural Health, Susan taught medical and allied health students about the impact of past government policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and effective ways to engage with Aboriginal communities. Her expertise extends to Aboriginal-led research and evaluation projects such as Health from the Grassroots, the Bari Aboriginal Youth Project, and arts-based compassion-focused therapy initiatives.

Since 2022, Susan has been working for Corporate Culcha, managing a remote literacy, numeracy, and digital skills pilot based in Doomadgee. Susan holds Certificate IV qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, and Training and Assessment. Her tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (Community Studies major) and a Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion. Currently, she is studying part-time for a Master of Health Policy and Planning.
