Overview

Healthy North Coast is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced health professional to support education and professional development for the non-GP primary health workforce across Northern NSW and the Mid North Coast.

The Clinical Educator will work with our Education Team to provide clinical advice, strengthen engagement with local health professionals and support the development and delivery of relevant education opportunities.

Contract: Initial 12-month engagement
Value: Up to $45,000 excluding GST
Location: Northern NSW
Delivery: Face-to-face, virtual and hybrid
Commencement: From January 2027

The non-GP primary care workforce helps to deliver accessible, coordinated and patient-centred care across our region.

This opportunity will help Healthy North Coast better understand and respond to the education needs of nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, Aboriginal health practitioners and other primary health professionals.

We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals.

Key responsibilities

The Clinical Educator will work across three key areas:

Clinical advice and education development
Provide clinical advice on workforce learning needs, education priorities and emerging issues, and contribute to the development and review of education programs and resources.

Workforce engagement
Build relationships with primary health professionals and professional networks across the region, promote education opportunities and provide insights about workforce needs, gaps and opportunities.

Education delivery
Support Healthy North Coast education activities, including workshops, panels, networking events and professional development sessions. This may include facilitating or co-facilitating sessions and supporting speakers and participants.

Who should apply?

We are looking for clinicians with:

current or recent primary healthcare experience
knowledge or experience in adult learning
an understanding of the Northern NSW healthcare environment
experience developing, delivering or facilitating education or professional development
strong professional networks within primary care
strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
the ability to work collaboratively across different health professions.

Travel across the region and some evening, early morning or weekend activities may be required.

Funding

Up to $45,000 excluding GST is available for the initial 12-month contract period.
