Ashby Community Centre and Public Reserve

Ashby Heights was affected by bushfires in late 2019. The Myall Creek Road fire was frightening and devastating: nearly everyone in Ashby village, Ashby Heights and Ashby Island was evacuated.

To project will design and develop a botanical nature discovery trail in the overgrown, unused areas of the Ashby Hall Reserve by regenerating the bush with native species. This project will unite the community in a shared sense of purpose and ownership over the nature trail for years to come. Local residents of all ages can assist in the project by researching information related to local flora and fauna, working bees and a local artist will facilitate art workshops for interested community members to create signs for the nature trail.
