Assist local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to minimise the risk factors for cardiovascular disease through improved knowledge regarding nutrition, exercise, stress reduction and smoking cessation.
Werin is delivering the healthy lifestyle program across 16 weeks. These sessions will be delivered by an Exercise Physiologist, Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Aboriginal Health Workers, who provide weekly group exercise and education sessions which target the risk factors for cardiac disease including smoking, nutrition, alcohol and physical inactivity. The group will further assist with linking participants with local cardiac support services.
