Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic
The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic (EPPC) Program provides funding to support the continuation of the established EPP Clinic for the communities of the North Coast of NSW
Community need
In regional and rural communities, access to specialist endometriosis care is often limited, creating inequities in health outcomes. Patients frequently face long wait times, fragmented care pathways, the need to travel significant distances for specialist consultations, and limited access to multidisciplinary support services. This can result in ongoing pain, psychological distress, reduced participation in education, employment and community life, and increased healthcare utilisation.
The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic is designed to address these gaps by providing timely, coordinated and patient-centred care closer to home. The clinic brings together multidisciplinary expertise, including gynaecology, pelvic pain management, primary care, nursing, allied health and psychosocial support, to improve assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of endometriosis.
By improving access to evidence-based care, enhancing care coordination, supporting self-management, and reducing barriers to specialist services, the clinic aims to improve health outcomes, quality of life and wellbeing for people living with endometriosis while reducing the burden on patients, families and the healthcare system.
Our approach
This service addresses the gap in specialty women’s health services across the North Coast of NSW. The team at the EPP clinic adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to the care which may involve a Women’s Health General Practitioner, Women’s Health Nurse, Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Dietitian and or Psychologist.

Objectives
The EPP Clinic aims to:
- – improve access for patients to diagnostic, treatment and referral services for endometriosis and pelvic pain
- – improve access for patients to care, treatment and management for perimenopause and menopause
- – increase access to allied health and support services, as they relate to endometriosis, pelvic pain, perimenopause and menopause
- – increase access to healthcare for endometriosis, pelvic pain, perimenopause and menopause patients from priority populations
- – provide access to new information, care pathways and networks for women with endometriosis, pelvic pain, perimenopause or menopause symptoms.
- – provide an appropriately trained workforce with expertise in endometriosis, pelvic pain, perimenopause and menopause
