Putting out the Fires is a comprehensive social marketing campaign targeting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities across the Northern NSW Local Health District.
The Northern NSW LHD is the project lead, with Healthy North Coast and local Aboriginal medical services partnering in the project.
In September 2017, a women’s Koori Knockout carnival was held in Lismore and local teams were invited to participate. The teams involved will now assist the project team in conducting community conversations so localised social marketing messages can be created and communities can participate in campaign design.
The teams will be invited to participate in the launch of the campaign which will take place on World No Tobacco Day, 2018.
