The Aboriginal Women’s Heart Health Awareness Program aims to deliver holistic and culturally appropriate cardiac health education to Northern NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through localised workshops. The workshops are a collaboration between the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSW LHD), local Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS), North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN), Solid Mob, Get Healthy and Tweed Heads On Track.
The workshops seek to assist participants to link with their local cardiac support services and healthy lifestyle groups. Through attending workshops, participants become ‘champions’ for heart health in their communities.
